Our mountain leader who has extensive experience of this area will transport you around this remote and fascinating area. We will enter a world of breathtaking beauty exploring jagged peaks and the wide open spaces of the Anti Atlas mountains.

scrambling

We will fly to Agadir and then after a three hours drive we will arrive in this beautiful and mysterious land.
We will be based in three locations, the first, a place called Idaougnidif, staying in the simple and delightful Berber Ksar guesthouse in the remote Afantinzar valley. Here we can sample the delights of Moroccan hospitality while undertaking day hikes around the area. We will then move further south to the amazing Ameln Valley where we will make an ascent of Jebel El Kest, at 2375m the highest mountain in the area.
The Berber town of Tafraout is nearby, a place with an exotic culture where only the most adventurous of tourist have ventured. Here we will explore the Souq and also visit the painted rocks. The Berber people of Tafraout are very friendly and are of Arabic Muslim religion.
We will travel even further south closer to the Sahara to the Ait Mansour Gorge where we will explore the surrounding trails and peaks.

experience required

We can tailor a trip for any level of experience. The terrain is a mixture of sand and rock where no paths exist. A typical day will be between 5 and 7 hours long. There will be options to tackle some exposed grade 1 scrambles.
